This study examined the development of children's emotions and temperament traits, and how these relate to their parents' personality, emotions, and the family environment. There were three different parts of this study:
1. Children came to the lab and played lots of games meant to elicit different emotions.
2. Parents filled out questionnaires related to their emotions and the behaviors and emotions of their child.
3. Children completed follow up visits and their parents completed follow up questionnaires at 6, 9, 12, 24, and 30 months after the initial visit.
