Jason Forney graduated with his B.A. in Psychology at Oakland University in 2003. Prior to coming to MSU, Jason worked as a research assistant at Wayne State University over a 4 year period. At Wayne State, Jason assisted on several projects with homeless adults, adolescents, and young people. As a result of this research, he has presented and published research concerning HIV-risk behaviors among homeless adults, risk behaviors among young homeless and formerly homeless adolescents and methodology for maintaining longitudinal samples of hard-to-reach young people. Since his time at MSU, Jason has pursued his research interest concerning HIV care and prevention among HIV-positive individuals. He completed his master’s thesis entitled “Risk and Protective Factors Related to HIV-risk Behavior: A comparison between HIV-positive and HIV-negative young men who have sex with men which is currently under review for publication. In addition, he has worked on several projects with Dr. Robin Miller including the MPowerment Detroit Evaluation Project and the Young Men’s Health Study.
