Actors and clinicians both do emotionally intimate work, and both depend on clear boundaries to do it well. Join us for this cross-disciplinary conversation, where Psychology’s Dr. Alytia Levendosky and award-winning intimacy director Cha Ramos will talk about intimacy practices as they are enacted in film, theater, and clinical settings.
What we’ll explore
- Boundaries and emotional intimacy
- What intimacy direction is, and how it supports actors performing charged scenes on stage
- Crossovers of practice and protocols between psychology, social work, and theatre
- How both actors and therapists may “take on a character” and have evolving relationships with colleagues
- Open Q&A and discussion time
