Your academic advisor is here to support you throughout your undergraduate journey. Advisors can help with course scheduling, degree requirements, career and graduate school preparation, campus resources, and navigating challenges that may impact your success.
They are available to answer questions and help you make informed decisions about your academic and future career goals; Meet with your PSY academic advisor at least once a semester to avoid delays, stay organized, and make the most of your time in the PSY major.
First, we encourage you to cruise our bios (below) to find the PSY advisor who might be the best fit for you. In PSY, we don’t assign advisors, so we’re your advisor when you say we are. Once you find someone you vibe with, you’re encouraged to continue meeting with that person.
Before each appointment:
Prepare questions or topics you want to discuss, such as course planning, academic goals, or concerns you may have.
During your appointment:
Advising is a collaborative conversation. Be engaged, honest, and prepared to actively participate.
When emailing the advising office:
Professional communication helps us support you more effectively.
We encourage students to meet with your PSY advisor at least once per semester.
Students interested in declaring or switching into the PSY major should also schedule an appointment.
Because advising appointments are often booked 2 to 3 weeks ahead, students are encouraged to plan early and build advising into their semester routine.
