The Social-Personality research areas invite you to a brownbag featuring guest speaker Billy van Luven, MSU College of Education.
van Luven will give a talk titled "STEM Role Identity Research from a Complex and Dynamic Systems Perspective."
Abstract: In this talk, I introduce two in-progress studies that examine the co-development of social and psychological processes with STEM-related role identity. The first study seeks to understand how peer processes and role identity beliefs co-develop over a semester in middle school math students. The second study examines how achievement, role identity, and other psychological processes co-develop over four years of university for engineering students.
