The Department of Psychology took home the Best Display award for the fifth time at MSU’s Global Learning Expo on October 8th, 2026. The expo hosts more than 145 exhibits displaying information about MSU’s global opportunities for students to explore their options.
Over the years, the psychology advising team has picked various British themes for their expo displays to highlight the main psychology study abroad at the University of Kent, outside of London. This year's theme was Alice in Wonderland in honor of British author Lewis Caroll.
“I'd also like to offer a big congratulations to the Department of Psychology, the winner of this year's Best Display,” said Cheryl Benner, Communications Manager for the Center for Global Learning and Innovation. “Taking students through Wonderland was engaging and creative! Our judges really enjoyed your display and great conversation!”
Your Adventure is Brewing was the main component of the display this year, building off the tea party in Alice in Wonderland.
“We handed out English tea bags with attached QR codes to our program information, said Sarah Handspike, director of advising and undergraduate services. “The students always they love it and the planning is always good team building for our group.”
Previous winning table themes that the PSY advisors have hosted include Spice Girls, Harry Potter, British Bake-Off, and Thomas the Train.
