RESEARCH

I engage in research through the perspectives of Decolonization, Anti-colonialism, Critical Race Theory, Critical Consciousness, and Developmental Intergroup Theory. My overarching research goal is to increase the well-being and empowerment of Indigenous peoples. In addition to the above perspectives, I prioritize Indigenous epistemologies and believe in preserving and promoting Indigenous culture and traditions.

My research thus far has focused on youth populations and utilized qualitative and mixed-method designs. In addition to this, my experience extends to applied work in Safe Haven Domestic Abuse and Violence Shelter (Minnesota), Minnesota’s Sixth District Public Defender’s Office, and a recent volunteer opportunity with the Refugee Development Center (Michigan).
