Welcome to the Social and Personality Psychology research area at Michigan State University. Social and Personality Psychology is a dynamic and interdisciplinary field that examines the interactions of thoughts, emotions, beliefs, traits, and behavior from individual, dyadic, and group-level perspectives. This research area focuses on understanding various aspects of human social behavior and personality development.
As leaders in the field of Social and Personality, we study a wide range of topics from interpersonal relationships to belief systems, from well-being to personality genomics. And so much more. We work to gain insights into the underlying mechanisms that shape human behavior while also advancing our understanding of human interaction.
Our faculty are well respected and known contributors to the fields of Social and Personality Psychology. In fact, several of our professors are highly-cited with an H-Index of over 85.
Through our research efforts, faculty members and graduate students alike, strive to make meaningful contributions to both academic knowledge and society as a whole.
