RESEARCH

Erin’s research focuses on skill acquisition and expertise. She utilizes web scraping and APIs to generate datasets which she analyzes to identify factors that contribute to success or failures in collegiate and professional athletic performance. Additionally, she develops cognitive tasks to collect data from participants which she analyzes to investigate the role of fluid intelligence in expertise and to investigate the changes in predictive validity of these tasks with practice. Erin also collaborates with the Athletic Injury and Rehabilitation Labs in the School of Kinesiology to identify factors related to successful recovery from injury.

Erin is committed to improving opportunities and experiences for women in sports and tech. She has previously volunteered as a facilitator for Girls Who Code and as a middle school volleyball coach.
