Meet our dedicated alumni through the bios below.

Sarena Bhatia, PhD

Sarena is currently the Development Assessment Leader at Johnson & Johnson. She owns the enterprise strategy for developmental assessments, and collaborates to drive seamless implementation and integration with talent initiatives across the company. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Sarena spent her career as a consultant in leadership assessment and development at Aon/Kincentric where she designed and delivered global programs at scale while maintaining and growing key client relationships. Sarena has spent time living and working in both US and Europe. She regularly presents and completes service activities for The Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology and has published in outlets like the Journal of Applied Psychology and written several book chapters on assessment.

Sarena holds a PhD and MA in Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University, and a BS in Psychology from University of Florida. Sarena and her family are based in Orlando, Florida.

Anthony S. Boyce, PhD

Tony is a principal research scientist at Amazon where he drives global pre-hire talent acquisition strategy and innovation to support the continued growth of Amazon’s 1 million+ employee workforce.  Previously, Tony was a partner at Aon where he directed a team of PhD's, data scientists, and engineers to develop assessment and leadership strategies, tools, and points-of-view to help organizations identify, develop, and retain top talent. He has been the recipient of several industry awards for his collaborative research including The Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology’s M. Scott Myers Award for Applied Research and the Distinguished Early Career Contributions Award.  He regularly publishes and presents his perspectives at national conferences.  Tony received his Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University. 

Jacob Bradburn, PhD

Jacob is a Lead Consultant within Target’s employee listening team, supporting the organization’s 400,000+ team members through initiatives designed to understand and improve the team member experience. As a part of this role, Jacob leads the design and implementation of Target’s distributed work listening initiatives focused on better understanding the experience of team members within and strengthening Target’s implementation of its hybrid work model. Prior to joining Target, Jacob was a Senior People Scientist within People Analytics at Ford Motor Company. His research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, and the Journal of Vocational Behavior. His research has been covered by popular press outlets such as Harvard Business Review and Fast Company. Jacob received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University, and his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan.

Courtney Bryant Shelby, PhD

Courtney is an Organizational Psychologist that specializes in authenticity and diversity in the workplace. She engages in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work as a Global Manager in the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Ford Motor Company, as a consultant through her firm Simply You Solutions, LLC., and as an active researcher. In her multiple roles she seeks to shorten the scientist-practitioner gap by applying research, analytics, and evidence-based practices to improve the workplace experience of employees, particularly for historically marginalized populations.

Cori Davis, PhD

Cori is the Chief People Officer at Genentech, a member of the Roche Group. In this role, she leads the strategy to foster an inclusive and inspiring environment where the company's 13,000 employees can grow, thrive, and unlock their full potential to contribute to patients and society. Since joining Genentech in 2009, Cori has held both U.S. and global roles driving human resources and organizational development for functions across the business, including research and development, sales and marketing, government affairs, medical affairs, and business operations.

Prior to Genentech, Cori worked for Microsoft, Deloitte, and in private consulting. Her 25+ years of human resources expertise spans the high tech, healthcare, and banking industries, as well as work in the public sector. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Michigan State, and currently resides in San Francisco.

Ann Howell, PhD

After finishing a doctorate in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University, Ann worked in consulting and internal corporate roles with a focus on talent management. Ann led teams at PetSmart and Sysco to manage succession planning, assessments, coaching, DEI, performance management and learning. Currently Ann is responsible for assessments (hiring and development) globally for Shell and coach MBA students at UCLA's Anderson School of Business. Ann is also on the Executive Board for Division 13 of APA - Society of Consulting Psychology and serve as a reviewer for the Consulting Psychology Journal.

Carrie Ott-Holland, PhD

Carrie is a people analytics leader and HR strategist who has worked for over a decade in Tech. As part of her work, she has served on interdisciplinary teams of social scientists, leading research on a broad range of topics including employee well-being, racial equity, remote work, leadership, performance management, talent management, and career development. She has served as a Google career certificate course instructor, where over 500K people have taken her data analytics course.

Charlotte Powers, PhD

Charlotte is currently the Head of Global Executive Talent Management at GE Aerospace, leading the team responsible for the design and approach to talent and succession planning, talent assessment, performance management, and executive development.  Previously, Charlotte was the Director of Talent Development and Leadership Effectiveness at Danaher Corporation, where she led the team responsible for the all-associate development strategy, including ongoing development offerings, immersion, assessment, and partnership with the Danaher Business System (DBS) Organization. Prior to that, Charlotte spent close to 10 years at Johnson & Johnson in diverse roles across talent management and human resources in the US and UK, leading global efforts and teams focused on assessment, talent and succession planning, leadership development, coaching, and analytics, among other topics.

Charlotte holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, a PhD and MA in Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University, and a BA in Psychology from Clemson University. Charlotte and her husband Josh reside in northern Virginia.
